PRE-K4

CHILDREN ENTERING PRE-K4 MUST BE 4 ON OR BEFORE AUG. 15 EACH YEAR.

WE FOLLOW THE STATE OF TENNESSEE'S GUIDELINES FOR ENTRY INTO KINDERGARTEN FOR THIS DATE, AND KEEP WITH THIS DATE FOR ENTRY INTO THE PRE-K3/4 LEVELS AS WELL.

Curriculum: Curriculum at this stage is pre-kindergarten readiness. In addition to working on letters, sounds, number, hand-writing and more, students will also receive daily Bible stories and review their designated Bible verse for the week/month. Students also receive Spanish instruction each week. Currently, we have three Pre-K4 classes.

We are open year-round, with summer months allowing for more free-time with seasonal activities including water days, gymnastics, visits from local attractions such as a petting zoo, the Tennessee Aquarium and Creative Discovery Museum and more to bring fun activities to the children while they are in our care. During the summer, our faculty members are on break, and we will have our summer care staff to provide activities and care during this time.

Nutrition: Lunch is included in weekly tuition for infants - Pre-K4. At this level, children are accustomed to eating lunch from our daily menu and will begin eating lunch in the cafeteria along with the other Pre-K students. Parents will receive a monthly menu to review and modify for their child. For example, if parents choose for their child not to have a particular item on any given day, they may indicate that on the menu and communicate it to their child's teacher. Parents are welcome to bring in all food for their child if they prefer special dietary preferences or for food allergy reasons.

Teacher/Student Ratio: 1:10 - In accordance with Tennessee State Child Care requirements, we may have up to 20 children in a Pre-K4 classroom, with a certified lead teacher and an aide.

Supply Fee: Students in Pre-K1 through Pre-K4 are required to pay a $50 supply fee twice per year (collected in August and February by account draft, or first fee at time of start). This amount covers art/craft supplies and snacks.

Napping: Under the Tennessee State childcare standards, children ages Pre-K4 and under must be provided at least an hour and half nap time. We provide a cot/mat for each child, but parents must provide bedding such as a fitted crib sheet, blanket and pillow or a napmat that has the blanket, pillow and cover combined. Your child will use the same mat we provide each day.
