Belvoir Christian Academy
Belvoir Christian Academy makes disciples for Jesus, encourages lifelong learners and values students in a nurturing community.

SPIRITUAL LIFE

Making disciples of Jesus is our mission. Our faculty and staff lead and teach children through Christian principles in every facet of learning. Students have the opportunity to experience the love of God and receive grace through the knowledge and belief in Our Lord and Savior Jesus. Each day begins with a student-led prayer following morning announcements. Students in each grade will have a daily Bible class with age-appropriate lessons, with our earliest learners in Pre-K 1 - Pre-K4 taking part in daily "Jesus Time".

Weekly Chapel

Each Wednesday, faculty, staff and students worship together for morning chapel. Service is from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., and is held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church located next to the school (Chapel is held in the school gymnasium in the case of inclement weather.) A number of supporting church pastors rotate in leading chapel each Wednesday, and on occasion, a particular grade will lead the lesson. Families of currently enrolled students as well as our associated church members are encouraged and welcome to attend.

In 2024, we introduced "Whopping Acts of ROAR" to our chapel program. In addition to instilling Christian principles, we also want our students to "ROAR" by showing Respect, having Optimism, being Accountable and demonstrating Responsibility. A student may be nominated by a teacher, staff member, or even a school parent, for "being caught in the act" of showing any or all of these traits.

Service in Our Community

School-wide service projects are an integral part of student life at BCA. Each Wednesday, children are encouraged to contribute offering to support a special cause or asked to donate items for various collections we hold throughout the year. The CHATT Foundation, Heifer International, Trinity Hope and Northside Neighborhood House are some of the non-profits we support. Blue Jean Dollar Days are also held monthly on Fridays or Mondays to raise awareness and encourage students to make a special donation to the quarterly designated non-profit

While it is important to teach children the practice of giving, we also challenge students to follow and improve upon their Christian character traits. Being able to practice patience, self-control, respect, honesty, forgiveness, kindness and show the love of Christ are among the traits that we work to build in our students.

All faiths and denominations are welcome at BCA. Our school is supported by First Lutheran ChurchGood Shepherd Lutheran Church and Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.  Pastoral support is also offered from Athens Lutheran Church.
