WEATHER-RELATED SCHOOL CLOSINGS/DELAYS

Weather in Chattanooga can be unpredictable, and we must make timely decisions to ensure the safety of our students, based on the area of BCA. Therefore, we do not follow Hamilton County's decisions for closures or delayed openings. We make decisions based on the severity of weather in our proximity.

Additionally, because we do not provide transportation for students, we do not have to take that into consideration. However, we respect our families' decisions on whether they choose to drive to school on a particularly severe weather day, based on the area from which they are driving.

Communication

We will provide notice of closings as soon as we have made them, based on circumstances we have or know of for that timeframe.

Please look for an initial text through the PraxiSchool platform, followed by Class Dojo Story posts and individual teacher Class Dojo posts. Additional communication methods may include messages on our website and social media or via email.

Also tune into one of the three Chattanooga television stations or radio stations (ex., WDEF/92.3) for our announcement.

Please note that when K - 8th is closed for weather concerns, this also includes infants - Pre-K4.

On days that have a delayed opening, infants - 8th grade will open at the same time. There will be no early morning care for days that have a delayed opening time. We will open at the time that is announced. 

In addition, we may not always have a chance to send out a school-wide email, depending on the time that the final decision is made on a full-day closing, so again, please look for a text through PraxiSchool, Class Dojo posts, this website's  main page and Facebook to learn of closings or delays.
