TN ESA and EFS Newsletter - Jan. 2026

See if you qualify to apply for a tuition voucher so that your child can receive an amazing Christian education here at BCA!

To qualify for Tennessee's ESA, your student MUST meet one of three criteria:

  • Enroll for kindergarten at Belvoir Christian Academy for the 2026-2027 school year.
  • Have attended a public school for a full year or started kindergarten during the 2019-20, 2020-21 or 2021-22 school years.
  • Move to Tennessee from out-of-state and enroll at Belvoir Christian Academy (at any grade level and from any school) in the current school year.

In addition to these criteria, there are income requirements. Your annual household income* must be below the following levels: Income amounts  listed below are from the 2025-2026 ESA Handbook.

  • 2 household members maximum: $53,144
  • 3 household members maximum: $67,132
  • 4 household members maximum: $81,120
  • 5 household members maximum: $95,108
  • 6 household members maximum: $109,096
  • 7 household members maximum: $123,084
  • 8 household members maximum: $137,072
  • Each additional member beyond 8, increases value by $13,988

*Income levels will be based on and verified by your 2025 tax return.

Education Freedom Scholarship Program

Tennessee residents may also apply for the State's additional tuition assistance program through the Education Freedom Scholarship. For this program, families do not have to meet specific income thresholds as the ESA listed above requires. This program was introduced in spring of 2025, with the first opportunity to apply held May 15, 2025. Be on the lookout for the spring 2026 date to apply. Both the ESA and EFS websites offer email sign-ups to learn more about application requirements and deadlines. Tennessee families must complete these application processes directly with the State of Tennessee.

BCA also accepts the Tennessee Child Care Certificates/Smart Steps for ages Infants - Pre-K4.

This program covers tuition rates only. Families will need to pay the required additional fees and the weekly co-pay.
