Learn more about our Infants - Pre-K4 program. Children must turn three on or before Aug. 15 for entry into Pre-K3 (and be completely potty-trained), and must be age four on or before Aug. 15 to be enrolled into Pre-K4.
Summer camp options are available for Pre-K3 and Pre-K4. Children may attend in the summer months, even if they do not attend BCA during the school year.
A supply fee of $125 is required annually for Infants - Pre-K4. A Technology Fee of $125 is also charged annually for Pre-K3/4.
*By Tennessee State law, a child may not start in our program unless an immunization form is received and on file before the start date from the child's pediatrician or health department that administered the immunizations. Families who have a medical or religious exemption for state immunizations must provide official, notarized documentation from their child's pediatrician or family physician stating medical reasons for not being immunized. Parents must complete and turn in the Religious Exemption form if they are exempt due to religious reasons.
Age Requirements
Children entering Pre-K3 or Pre-K4 must be age 3 or age 4 on or before Aug. 15. The state of Tennessee requires that a child be age 5 on or before Aug. 15 for entry into kindergarten. Therefore, we follow in keeping that guideline for entry into Pre-K3 and Pre-K4 so that children will progress appropriately from pre-school to kindergarten without having to unexpectedly repeat a pre-k level. Children must also be completely toilet-trained to enter Pre-K3.
To ensure that all early care and pre-school students remain on track to timely enroll into kindergarten in the future, we advance students into each level, beginning from infants, based on their birthdate. With the requirement to turn age 5 on or before Aug. 15, we retain or advance based on the following example:
If a child turns age one on or before Aug. 15, he or she will move into our Pre-K1 class. There is also an option for this age level to remain in our infant/transitional class that can accommodate children up to 15 mos. Our infant classroom has a dividing knee wall to have infants on one side, and older, more mobile toddlers on the other side.
If a child turns age two on or before Aug. 15, he or she may start in our Pre-K2 program.
If a child turns age two after Aug. 15, he or she will remain in Pre-K1 and move into Pre-K2 on the move-up/promotion day held each year on the day after Memorial Day.
