Three (3) after care staff, ages 18 and above - part-time - 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., Mon. - Fri. 
Three (3) Pre-K aides - full-time - 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Early Childhood Education Aide Requirements

  • Love children!
  • In-depth understanding of childhood development, strong conflict resolution skills, excellent communication skills and be attentive and patient.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Age 21 or older
  • Clear criminal background check/be fingerprinted
  • Provide basic care for children which includes feeding, grooming and changing diapers
  • Develop age-appropriate socialization skills in children
  • Encourage positive behavior and good manners
  • Utilize various learning methods such as stories, games and drawing/art to intellectually  stimulate children
  • Identify behavioral problems and develop appropriate strategies to address them
  • Provide a pleasant, safe and sanitary environment
  • Communicate with parents and provide updates on children’s progress
  • Provide proven experience working as an early childhood teacher (if previously worked with children)

Preferrable (not required)

  • Child care professional (CCP) certification
  • Certification in first aid and CPR (BCA employees will receive this at school every two years.)
