Happy New Year!

The middle school hallway is bustling with excitement!  At any given time you can hear the sweet sound of slamming lockers, the laughter of tweens and the siren song of teachers beckoning kids to class.  I for one, am delighted to be back.  This year I have the privilege of teaching two science classes, sixth - eighth grade language arts and reading and genius hour with Mr.  Streufert.  The sixth grade students have been an incredible addition to the middle school, adding a contagious energy to all their classes.  The seventh and eighth graders have bravely stepped into their roles as leaders and examples of Christ's love.  Be sure to check this page regularly for updated pictures and important information.

In this picture fifth graders are writing questions they hope that science can answer.  They discussed many things that they wonder about from Harry Potter to planets!  One of my favorite questions was, "What is chalk made out of?"

Below are lists that the middle school brainstormed of attitudes and goals that are important to them.  I'm sure you can hear their voices saying things like "be snazzy" and "get smart."  They always make me proud!

Highlights from last year.

The Hunter Museum of American Art and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center

Looking back on last school year, two of the experiences that really stood out were our field trips to the Hunter Museum of American Art and the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.  Here are a handful of pictures that document that those trips.
