Welcome to 6th grade!

A four-week unit on song writing culminates in a special trip to Nashville, Tennessee for the Sixth Grade.  To prepare for their trip they learned all about song writing, from its beginning as a poem, counting syllables, to the parts of a song.  They even tried their hands at writing their own songs.  Two weeks prior to their trip they submitted their final songs to take part in the Words and Music program at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  Students listen five songs are selected and put to music.  During the recording session someone sing the arrangements and plays the keyboard.  While in Nashville the class takes the opportunity to visit the state capital.  The trip is entertaining, educational and unforgettable.
