We're glad to have new students and their families join Belvoir Christian Academy! We hope this will be a great beginning to your child’s education. While our teachers and staff will ensure that your child receives a top-notch education, the parents on our Parent-Teacher League will work to provide children, parents and the community with several fun and exciting events that will certainly enhance your child's experience here at BCA.
The best way to get to know other parents is to become involved with the activities that PTL has planned for the year. Everyone is welcome to our monthly meetings, which are generally held in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. Look for meeting notices in the school’s weekly newsletter.
For more information on BCA's PTL, please contact PTL President, Laura Dahlke, at 423.834.4337 or PTL@bcalions.org.
Purpose of PTL:
To encourage and cultivate high standards of Christian education.
To promote open communication and good will among parents, teachers, administration, school board, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Church.
To encourage parental participation in school events.
News from Laura Dahlke, PTL President - I want to say "Thank You" to everyone from the PTL! We have danced, mixed, mingled, shopped, talked, raised money, & decorated our way through a fantastic year. Thanks to several parents, we have eaten rather well, also. We bought tables for the cafeteria & iPads for the teachers. We are even starting a garden! What more could we ask for?
We hope that during the summer you won't forget about us. Hang a BAGGIE on the fridge for BoxTops & Soup Labels; put a box nearby for JARS. August will be here faster that we know! Our BIG Uniform Sale will be held on Registration Day. Look for E-mails! HAVE A GREAT SUMMER VACATION!
Campbell’s and Box Top Label Contest Winner! - We want to congratulate Mrs. McCrory’s 1st Grade for winning the spring contest for the Campbell’s Soup and Box Top collection. They brought in over 1,000 labels! Way to go! They will win an ice cream or pizza party, compliments of PTL.
Thanks to everyone for collecting labels all year! Please continue to collect them over the summer for the Fall 2013 label contest! We also want to thank Lora Finley for her efforts in preparing and submitting the labels these past two semesters.
Thank you, parents, for contributing snacks and drinks for our Teachers' Lounge!
Teachers’ Lounge Care by Parents - As a service to our faculty and staff, each homeroom class is asked to donate simple snacks and/or drinks to be placed in the Teachers’ Lounge (located across from the library). Our teachers are especially busy during the day and do not have time to take many breaks, but as they are making copies in the lounge, they can have a snack/drink while waiting.
Each class will take a two or three-week period to bring in items such as bottled water, individually-wrapped snack bars, etc. Your homeroom parent will let you know the weeks that your child’s class will help with this service. There will be a few weeks throughout the year that will not be assigned to a specific class, so we will let you know of these weeks and ask for donations school-wide during these times.
